    2NT - 3NT

    1D is the preferred opening here (see earlier hand). 2H is 4th suit forcing, usually played as GF. 2NT shows a stop but minimum. North has a 17count, but with weak diamonds and pard on a minimum probably should just bid 3NT.

  2. The book treatment of these hands can be awkward. In particular with this precise shape it might be hard to get to a 4=4 heart fit.

    With 2H being 4th suit forcing it will be hard to find a 4=4 heart fit without sound agreements and a lot of partnership trust.
