  1. At my table North didn't open a weak 2D which allowed me to open 1NT as East. After South's pass partner bid 3C which confused me as we play transfers to minor by bidding 2S asking for opener to show a weak 1NT (2NT) or a strong 1NT (3C). Then responder sorts out by passing, bidding 3D or 3NT. Responding 3C to 1NT shows 6 forcing to game with interest in slam under our system but when partner didn't open I should have realised the 3C was a weak takeout over the 1NT.

  2. Most people probably don't have an agreement for 3C as a passed hand. If they did they might play it as invitational with six clubs.Although even that hand would normally be able to open 1C.

    Some players do not like opening a weak two with a four card major on the side. It can cause problems.
