West has got a reasonable x over 3C. provides more options but may miss a 5-5 heart fit. Difficult for East. His Kx of clubs doesn't look very good, and pard could easily have xx clubs.
Slam is only a slight favourite. You need to bring in the diamonds without loss. As it happens overcalling 3H gives the best chance to reach slam as east can bid 4C, a cue-bid to show a good raise to 4H. 4C would not necessarily promise a club control here as it is the only way to show a good hand without bypassing 4H.
