EW are obviously not playing ACOL, with 1C presumably as short as 2 or 3. This hand hi-lites a problem for such systems when pard has a club suit, but doesn't know if there is a fit or not, so despit having game values doesn't know where to play
South managed to make two free bids on what is balanced yuck.

  1. Its very hard for east west here given the north south bidding. I think south got lucky by bidding. On another day it will be partner who is misled.
