  1. Super accepts are quite difficult. Pard could easily be bust thus shouldn't be done simply because there is a fit. Should really be max with all hcp "sharp" cards.

  2. This superaccept is fine if the range is 15-17 for the 1NT.

Some players like to superaccept always or nearly always with four trumps. Personally I do not like that style - my partners always have bad hands - but it is a possible way to play.

  3. A further issue is whether South should accept the invite after the superaccept. Usually with balancish hands 25hcp are need for major games with 4-4, 5-3 fits, but with 5-4 the extra trump is worth ~2hcp (so says DDA results), so u can get away with 23hcp. The South hand has some positive features, an ace, and a secondary suit, but some negative features, 2 doubletons and an unsupported queen. Time for further analysis.

  4. Assuming North has NT shape and 4 (or 5) hearts, with a max 17hcp (and not necessarily a "sharp" 17), bidding game is well superior to passing 3H. This is using DDA with 5000 hands. Vul, the difference in IMPs/bd is a massive 3.9 IMPs, while at MPs the difference is such that bidding game is worth 61%. Results are very sensitive. For example, change the CQ to CJ. MPs changes to 41%, while IMPs drop, but still favour game at 0.98IMPs/bd. With CJ, changing the vulnerability setting to NV wipes out any advantage of bidding game.
