East's bid is a little left field. MPs is oriented to major suits so why bid an eaqual length minor? South's pass and oppo both bidding suggests warning bells for North. 2S is probably better.
North can see game opposite a fit and one card so I think bidding 3S is reasonable. Maybe just a fit and an entry and a successful heart finesse would do.
