  1. At the other table there seems to be system failure as two balance hands with combined 22hcp shouldn't end in 3NT. This is common failing with systems which play variable strength NT according to Vul. West presumably thought East had 15+, but what 3c and 3D were is confusing as checkback stayman is only used over jumps to 2NT and in any event west has no reason to checkback for major fits.
