DDA Opening Lead: the 5♦ looks like the "4th highest from your longest and strongest". However a spade lead is best by 0.07 av tricks over the heart lead, which in turn is 0.1 av tricks better than the diamond, with the club close behind. Note again a demonstration of the major suit bias. This comes about because east is assumed not to have a 5 card major as would have transferred. South is also assumed not to have a weak 2 opener. The 1NT is assumed to include 5332 hands with a 5 card major. Some people do not play this. If that constraint was included the major suit bias would be even more marked.
